Jubilee for Choirs and those involved in liturgical music

21 October 2016 - 23 October 2016 (Save to calendar)

Paul VI Hall

From 21-23 October, 2016, the Jubilee for Choirs will take place, aimed at those involved in music for liturgical celebrations in dioceses and parishes, along with their family and friends who also wish to participate. Registration is now open on the site www.giubileocorali.com for this event organized by the Diocesan Choir of Rome and included in the calendar of Jubilee Events sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization.

The “three days” will open on Friday, October 21 with an Educational Conference with the theme “Sing Mercy”. Among the speakers will be Mons. Guido Marini, Master of Papal Liturgical Celebrations; Mons. Massimo Palombella, Director of the Sistine Chapel Choir; Mons. Vincenzo De Gregorio, President of the Pontifical Institute for Sacred Music; and P. Marko Ivan Rupnik, artist, theologian, and Director of the Aletti Center, who also led the meditation for the Jubilee for the Roman Curia in the presence of the Holy Father.

On the second day, Saturday, October 22, all the participants will attend the Jubilee Audience with the Holy Father. Then, in the afternoon, the Choirs present will join together for a big Concert in Paul VI Audience Hall, which will be dedicated to Divine Mercy and Saint John Paul II on the day of his Liturgical Memorial.

On Sunday, October 23, the Jubilee will continue with the Pilgrimage to the Holy Door and prayer at the Tomb of Saint Peter. Mass inside Saint Peter's Basilica will follow, celebrated by S.E. Mons. Rino Fisichella, and afterwards the Angelus with the Pope in Saint Peter's Square.

A detailed schedule and information about the three days are available on the event’s web site.
